Our Story

Clarent Precision was founded in 2011 by brothers Paul and John Chopping. What started as a small operation has grown year on year into a premium sub-contract CNC machining company, operating from purpose-built premises in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.

We are a family business with a simple philosophy: deliver the highest quality components, correct to specification, on time, and at a competitive price. That focus on quality and reliability has earned us a broad range of customers, from large corporate organisations to small independent companies, across sectors including aerospace, motorsport, automotive and pharmaceuticals.

With extensive experience in CNC machining, tool making and CAD/CAM, John oversees production and ensures every component meets Clarent's exacting standards.

Paul brings deep expertise in quality control and project management. He works closely with clients to understand their priorities and ensure projects are delivered on time.

We don't just machine parts. Our approved sub-contractor network allows us to fully manage projects requiring further treatments such as case hardening, anodising, plating and assembly.

Training the Next Generation

Our apprenticeship programme trains the next generation of machinists in the full range of skills required to produce high quality components, ensuring we maintain the standards and ethos of the company.

Our custom-built, temperature-controlled inspection department is equipped with a CMM, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges and more. We provide full material traceability, Certificates of Conformity, First Article Inspection Reports and CMM reports as standard.
